How is a KSEB electricity bill calculated?
Short answer: KSEB bills every two months but applies monthly slabs to the monthly average. Up to 250 units a month is telescopic: ₹3.35 (0–50), ₹4.25 (51–100), ₹5.35 (101–150), ₹7.20 (151–200), ₹8.50 (201–250). Above 250 units a month, every unit is charged at one higher rate from ₹6.75 to ₹9.20, plus a fixed charge. Example (single phase): 300 units in two months = ₹1,505; 500 units = ₹3,185; 502 units = ₹3,828.50.

FAQ
What is the 250 unit rule in KSEB billing?
If your monthly average is above 250 units, KSEB stops the telescopic slabs and charges all units at a single higher rate (₹6.75 to ₹9.20), so a few extra units can raise the bill sharply.
Are these KSEB rates valid in 2026?
Yes. KSERC's order dated 05.12.2024 fixes the LT-1 domestic rates from 01.04.2025 to 31.03.2027.
